Default New guy out of Atlanta GA.. I come to forum with problems

My wife has a 2003 S-Type 3.0L.. The problem is leaking coolant.. I was told it was coming from the electric pump to the heater core.. I took some photos (down underneath the resorvoir, top and bottom view) and I see coolant. Just wanted to confirm if this is the pump and 2ndly can it be repaired by a DIY or have to go to shop?

Thanks in advance of responses and look forward to being part of the forum.

Welcome to the forum Phat535,

Good to have you with us.
You'll want to check the tech section S-Type / S type R Supercharged V8 - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum and maybe take a look at the regional section Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
It's not the pump, the V6 doesn't have one.
The part in the picture is the DCCV dual coolant control valve.
If you go to the tech section and search for those terms you'll have plenty to read.
It's a fiddly but straightforward repair, you can get a Ford valve cheaper than the Jag part, but you will find all that info along with part numbers and pics in the tech section.
Enjoy the forum.

If you haven't done so already you should add your car details to your signature to help others to help you.

Welcome to the forum Phat535,

Excellent advice from Norri. He's done everything bar come round and fix it for you!

Hope you soon have the control valve replaced and the S-Type is running sweetly again.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome phat535. Ditto to all and do it quick cause a blown DCCV can toast the climate control module. If it did this already, when the a/c is on you'll have cold coming out of some vents, heat the others. RockAuto.com sells the DCCV (same as Lincoln LS) for $80.
