2005 is good year for S-Types.
The prewire means it is prewired. No Bluetooth Upgrade module or PSE module installed. Wiring is all there. You would have to buy the modules. Looking at around $1000.00 but it is made to work with the car versus aftermarket systems.

2005 S-Types primary trans fault is software. Nothing to it to update it. Especially if you have a friendly neighbourhood technician.

No other common problems. Software updates are to update the engine or transmission computers yes.
Inexpensive to get updates.

I have a 2005 S-Type with the non-Apline nav, and it seems to already have the C2C34515 PSE Module on my steering wheel- does that mean the rest of the car is pre-wired, and all I need to do is "plug and play" the BT module, Microphone and the Fiber Optic Harness/Lead?

I see you're new so welcome, but you're not going to be loved if you post essentially the same message multiple times! https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=48796

Forget about the car's prewired phone or attaining an expensive and antiquated phone module...you got a cell phone?
