new member does this sound ok, auto 2.5 sport
hi there just thought i would say hello,
i have just brought a stype 2.5 sport v6 auto with 73.000 miles on 53 plate,
i absolutely love it, been my dream to own one,
when i brought it the salesman said not to fill up with supermarket fuel it knackers the ecu( i dont normally anyway) but is that right or just pulling my leg?
i loved the car and just had to buy it but i may have jumped a bit early as now had good look round it. theres a few things not sure are right might be me and need to get use to auto,
at about 40mph the auto seems to hop along rather than smooth like the other speeds.
mean trying to power up like rev up to change gear, is this ok?

It's not true. Stick to 95 RON and buy it anywhere reputable, which includes supmkts.
You may have a variant of "the lurch" (see google and this site's Search). Maybe the TC (torque conv). Or maybe a fuelling/misfire issue. (More Searching lol)

I got the 2.5 se a month ago and also love it, after 20 years of lesser autos this box is the best. It always seems to be in the right gear and moves forward sharply in traffic when you push the pedal at whatever speed. Just did the rear brake pads and was impressed with how cheap the pads were off ebay. Next job is the imt o rings see sticky threads if you have any oil leaks.
