Default Which OBD-II protocol is used for '04 S

I'm looking for a diagnostic/code scanner for my '04 S Type. I searched the forum but couldn't find which protocol is used.
Thanks in advance!

For simple/generic OBD, ISO 9141-2. For others, CAN and PWM. (You can check this by looking at wiring diagrams in JTIS)

If you have a computer (preferably a laptop), buy something whose software runs on your computer. On a lowish budget, probably a USB lead with an ELM327 chip but on a bigger budget probably get an AE (AutoEnginuity) lead and software.

What matters is the software so research that.

I posted some data recently (came from AE).
