p1183 code on 00 s-type 4.0 says two things
I have code P1183 which my code reader says: manufacturer control fuel air metering: Other source says: temperature circuit malfunction
I purchased this with a misfire which new coil pack took care of, also a temperature oil sensor which confused me as it is the same part as the water temp. sensor? Now after curing the miss I have a p420 code I need to address.
Will be putting on VVG and o2 sensors, with a little luck maybe I can beat the P420 code, (I know, not likely).
Any advice is welcome, like whats a good aftermarket catalytic converter

You can get the actual Jaguar meanings AND the possible causes if you get the free download workshop manual / codes files from this site or JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource

+1 on using the correct definition of the DTCs for MY and engine displacement.
When P0420 and or P0430 are displayed as DTCs, in my experience, they require replacement of the catalyst on the respective bank. The codes are the result of misfire(s).
Be sure to obtain the correct oxygen sensors as they're VIN-specific.
