Default P1386

I changed all the valve cover gaskets new iridium spark plugs all new ignition coils. Put everything back just the way it was before I took it apart. Now when I start the car it has a weird sound coming from the left side drive side of the engine and has a rough idle. Once I start driving and the car warms up the sound isn't as loud and the rough idle that rumbles the whole car goes away. It's running a p1386 code and now I'm not sure what to do. I've been debating in taking the whole thing apart again but wanted to see if anyone could give me some advice. The car has 160k on the engine and oil changed every 3k with 5/30

Do you know what that code is for?
We have a list of codes in the sticky threads on this forum and you can search to see how other people fixed it.

Did you connect the electrical connector to the VVT solenoid?

P1386 has to do with the VVT system - check electrical connection.

How old is your oil? If your nearly overdue (and the electrical connector is indeed connected) get engine flush and change oil/filter. You can always sub 1qt trans fluid for oil.

Search the forum for more details.
