Default Parking aid beep stays on while backing up...

Is this a common issue? When I hit reverse the parking aid beeps the entire time with a LONG BEEP until I put it back into drive. Does not do it everytime. Any ideas?

Check to see if you have some snow/ice build up on any of the sensors. If not, you probably have bad or failing sensor.

You're not the first to have this problem. Try doing a search for bad parking aids or sensors.

Hi,

Could it be a warning that one of your sensors is duff.

Try putting the car in reverse and then put your ear right up to the sensors in turn. You should hear a quiet, but audible clicking if they're working OK.

Thanks
Mike.

Yes, that's part of what the existing threads point out.

Just do it with the engine off! Be sure and block the wheels so the car does not roll.

It's much easier to hear the clicks and you can do it by yourself.

The reverse parking aid module is on a network and will log DTCs.
You can access the module for interrogation.

It probably is one of the sensors.
