Default Performance springs for 2007 S-Type

Do any members recommend lowered performance springs for 2007 V6 Diesel?

I’ve come across these from Paramount Performance - https://www.paramount-performance.com/jaguar-s-type-lowered-sports-suspension-pack.html

Any comments appreciated

Those springs are for an S-type R, not your car.

Perhaps you may find that 'performance' and 'lowered' are not the same when it comes to springs.
As you may well find that lowering your S-type will not improve its cornering at all!

Fair point re. Cornering.

I’m on my 2nd S-Type and my recently purchased XS model is definitely stiffer suspension than my previous SE. Although I do have service stamps for the XS car it’s a definite improvement over the suspension on the SE - stiffer and an altogether better drive. There’s no paperwork to suggest work done but then again my newer (2007) car over the previous 2006 model may account for the differences.

Sounds like you've got the sports suspension over the softer SE setup. Do you have the CATS units ? They were on my 2.7 sport D & it was great. Open the bonnet & see if you have wires coming from the tops of the shocks. If yes, you have the CATS system.

I agree the CATS system is a lot better. However, you will also find that the state of the various rubber bushes makes a massive improvement as well.
Old rubber bushes will soften it up, new will make it stiffer and as there are quite a few the differance can be great.
'Lowering' will make very little difference, in fact it will probably make handling worse, if nothing else is changed to match. (i.e. dampers etc) It may well also cause excessive tyre ware as well.

Cool (for CATS)…… Squueze wasn’t it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. But as stated, the ride/suspension etc. is a lot for “focussed” than my older SE. I just kind assumed it was Sports Suspension on it (no paperwork on bills spent apart from service stamps and verified mileage) so sounds like Happy Days all round eh?

Whilst I’m under the hood so to speak, is there any more benefit from, say, a Green Cotton air filter for the Jag? Looks like it should fit but thought I’d ask 😉😃

Indeed! Think I should've posted the word "stiffer" in place of "performance" so my mistake :-)

Cornering is almost certainly better but it's never pushed to hard cornering.

Another Forum member suggested my newer Jag may have the CATS Suspension system fitted (2.7D XS 2007-model year) as the ride compared to my much softer SE model is noticeable especially rumbling along on country roads!!!!! Toujour agreeable a la France

Looks like wires to me!!!!!! Noticeable performance difference - not just suspension/handling - but mid-range throttle response too! Jobs-a-good un and explains away the improved ride so Thank You for that, Robinus. Might have to research CATS system now eh?

Don't bother with any of that stuff. It's a diesel & the std. filter flows enough air.
