Default Radio works but No Sound after Battery jump...the radio isnt asking for a code...

It's possible Ive used up all my Goodwill the last couple days asking (and receiving awesome answers to) questions about my dead battery/ non opening trunk situation.

Well, Im 90% better - I re-calibrated the E-Brake today with instructions I received here (thank you) and it worked like a charm.

I TRIED to reset my radio but the instructions I used from here arent working. I tried 2 things:

1. Press AMEM + PTY + MODE simultaneously (several times)..the physical buttons, not the screen ones.

2. Also, was advised to try to above and then press PTY, MODE and Fast Forward....

Anyhoo - didnt work. The radio is NOT asking for a code and the radio, CD player and CDC all appear to be working - there's just NO SOUND.

Any suggestions? I owe you guys all a beer for the help Ive received these past few days.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal for a minute or so, then reconnect it.

You will have to do the e-brake recalibration again, but a clean reset like this might bring your radio back.

Try pushing the telephone button on the steering wheel controls.

Hi Diana,
May I suggest you try the hard reset as described by WhiteXKR in post 2.

You already know how to reset the E brake so no problem there. Read through carefully on how to get the radio back before you try.

When you are confident you have it, go ahead.

Hopefully you will then get your sound back.

If you don't have a manual, you may be able to get one within the S type forum.

I had the same problem: no volume after reconnecting the battery even though it was on for a while but it was gone after I housed the car.

It turned out that the volume knob on the radio is damaged (no resistance when you turn it) but I restored the volume through the steering wheel buttons. At least I can control the volume from there.
