Default Rear bumper/bumperette cover removal?

I've been perusing the FAQs and How-tos, saw a front bumper removal, but not a rear. My left rear chrome bumperette has a dent, I think I can straighten it out, but need guidance on removing it. I admit, I haven't even looked under there yet, may be simple, but I'm a lil concerned about those two painted button/clips just inside the chrome pieces. What is up with those buttons anyway? I've seen them on other cars and they just look stupid, what designer thought they were attractive?

I think you may be talking about the sensors for the reverse sensing system. Makes an ever more frequent chirp in the cabin as you close in on an obstacle in reverse. I forget the ranges...but maybe begins at 3 ft or so and goes to steady tone about 8 inches?

chevy, the rear bumper facia has about 40 bolts that need to be removed, the tail lights need removed, the stereo stack and the REM bracket. It appears to be quite a project to remove! Are the bumperets fastened with screws or are they 3M taped, hmm??? Maybe check with Mina Gallery for replacements. http://www.minagallery.com/jagxp/Jag...mperblades.htm

The original jaguar bumper blades have 4 tabs on them attaching them to the bumper, I was only able to find a crappy pic but it shows you the tabs.

I think you have to remove the rear bumper cover to get to them to replace it though.

I'm also attaching the rear bumper removal / reinstall procedure. Seems like a fun afternoon.

Take care,

George

What Rick said, except they may be LOL

There were many many changes in body parts in 2004-5.

You could hunt through JEPC (or maybe an online parts store) if you want to check.
