Hi Jumping Jag Flash - Thanks for the advice but I understand that sometimes these added parking sensor systems are connected to the reversing lights circuit so pulling the fuse might switch off these lights as well.

Yeah, wouldn't want to see you pulling the fuse for other accessories. Just suggesting this option if you find a fuse dedicated to the parking sensor system.
Good luck,
Steve

Thank all of you including the problem car. I have been dealing with the same issue for some time. I found the module but was afraid to undo anything. I tried looking for the fuse as well with not much luck yet. I will work on this rain permitting this weekend. I have a 2003 S Type Jag 3.0 L engine with a 5 speed trans. The trunk seems to be leaking now as well which may have caused the problem. Again thank you

Both of my earlier S-Types (2000, 20002) had water intrusion problems in the trunk that damaged the modules. I looked on Ebay but every one I saw had evidence of water having made contact. Look for white chalky deposits on the outside any used module (front and back). If they're there it means its been in contact with water.

I finally gave up on the sensors. A brand new module was out of my price range. My 2005 doesn't have the water entry issues the earlier S-Types had.

My 2005 S-Type VDP Edition started having trunk water entry problems recently. I waited for a dry day and turned a hose on the trunk and checked the entire gasket surrounding the trunk lid. I applied silicone sealant all along the side of the gasket and the water stopped penetrating. I also drilled 2 3/4" holes in the lowest part of the trunk beneath the spare tire as drain holes and haven't had any water problems since. Now if I could say the same thing about my sun roof.
