Default Removing S-Type back seat?

Unless I've missed it, I can't seem to find a thread about removing the backseat of an S-Type. I have a 2001 that reeks of gasoline (in the passenger compartment and truck) for awhile after refilling and I'd like to take a look at the seals that are supposed to be located on top of the tank which is located under the back seat.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!

On my '02, the seat bottom is easy to remove. Just grab the front edge and lift it up. It's been a while so I don't remember what holds it, but I think it was just some plastic clips.

If you feel along the bottom front edge of the seat cushion, you will feel the catch. Move the lever one way or the other until you feel it unlock, do the same on other side. Lift cushion, mess with the seat belt fasteners to push them through the seat cushion. You now will be able to move cushion out of the way. If you want to remove seat cushion all the way you will have to use a small nail or so to unlock the middle seat belt strap.

I do have a couple threads from long ago with detailed pictures of what I just described. Use advanced search "joycesjag" in the "S Type" subdirectory key word "seatbelt". Unfortunately you will have to weed through a couple of posts to find them.

Good to know! My dad always said "don't force things, ask for help!" So it's good to know that there's a lever tucked in there somewhere. Sorry I missed your post, but I did several searches and found bits and pieces information, but not about an earlier S-Type.

Thanks!
