Replacement engine control module
Hello everyone
well living in the United Kingdom has been a eye opener thats for sure
Been pulled over a couple of times same as the wife
But luckily police have been very understanding
Regarding speed and only been given warning
Still getting used to driving in miles per hour not kilometers per hour
I am on my way back to new Zealand for two weeks work related but in new south Wales at moment for Bathurst 1000
Ok my question as some of you know a Apprentice auto electrician killed my engine control module
Luckily all information from it was retrieved
and put on replacement engine control module
Oliveston Ltd, Rochdale United Kingdom
So could some kind person please tell me if this replacement engine control module will now be plug and play
or do I need to reconfigure it to the STR using JLR IDS
Thanking you
Darrol

I guess processor (as in CPU)
I'm doubtful they can be damaged (without serious effort, 240V anyone?) in these (Denso) PCMs, they're very robust.
Goodness only knows how anyone could be so inept. or staggeringly careless

both companies said possibility because they did not use a voltage stabaliser
company in New Zealand and oiverston Ltd in the United Kingdom

It’s certainly a good lesson for the rest of us to be careful who we let loose on the electronics of our cars.
