Default Replacement Shock S-type R 2003

I was told by my local Jaguar dealership that all four of my shocks need replacing and since the car has the CATS suspension and specialty shock absorbers I was wondering if anybody has leads on replacement shocks. I spoke to the guy in parts and the factory shocks are computer controlled and those same ones have to be replaced. They said the fronts were 350$ a piece and the rears were 440$. Ive read in some posts you can change the springs but the shocks will throw a error code bcuz they are linked through the computer. Anyone have any leads on replacing them.

I think you would be better of finding a set of high performance coil overs and find a way to bypass the computer controlled C.A.T.S. nonsense.. Just my $0.02

You don't even want to try to bypass CATS. Get a different car if you do

Rock Auto also has the CATS compatible shock absorbers. They are priced cheaper than what you were quoted.

I can get these shocks for you. Here are some Jaguar part numbers and prices:

XR843730 Ft shock (2) $270.75ea.

XR836885 R. Shock (2) $333.75ea.

These are new Genuine parts.

It looks like your Jaguar dealer isn't marking up the prices on parts. That's a good thing.

Thanks

Default Shocker

You are seeing the same thing I am, and that seems to be owning a nice performance luxury vehicle is inherently expensive. I got mine for a very good price, then I found that even the smallest issue was expensive by dealer rates, and in some cases you have no choice but the dealer. And the dealer may not be local. I feel your pain!

Order some Bilsteins. That is the path I am taking. All good struts/shocks are expensive. The Bilsteins are cheaper than what I had on my 4Runner!
