Default Retrofitted phone and VACM not found

Dear all,
Can you please help out a fellow Brit car fan?
I have recently bought a 2004 S type with only 100k kms.
Did a rust treatment, changed a whining diff, replaced DCCV and repaired the CCM including fuse...
So far all went swimmingly.

I thought I'd add a phone module for ease of use; did some reading up on this magnificent forum learned that adding voice would be good (and extra toys... always nice right?!)
So I have bought a VACM and Phone module (7W93-10D893-AB) in the UK added a D2B cable and bluetooth antenna and fitted it all in the boot/trunk.
Did this while battery was disconnected and when connected expected to have extra toys in function.... unfortunately, no joy....

Went to Jaguar specialist thought it might have to be activated via SDD but no new modules could be found...
What am I missing?

Some additional information:
- Car had fully functional Nav fitted
- After changing D2B cable Nav is fully functional so I guess the connections to VCAM and Phone should be good -> big assumption; will Nav still work if IN and OUT are switched on VACM and/or Phone?
- The modules are bought in UK -> does this matter when hooking them up on a Dutch car?
- Check at Jaguar specialist was done using SDD, I am reading others using IDS -> does this matter?
- Fuses for both modules are present (I did not take these out to see if they were broken #facepalm)

So I am a bit stuck now, any thoughts?
Is there anything to check; I seem to remember someone mentioning looking at D2B, if a light is coming from connector in the modules?

I would be very grateful for any support.

Kind regards,
Han

Hi
which module did you add in the boot , the metal phone module or plastic one, as the metal one is not compatible with 2004 cars, that one has to have handset in the armrest
you need the plastic unit, which is phone and bluetooth, you need the fakra bluetooth atenna and a mic plugging into the over head light
Jaguar voice should be plug and play, as long as you have a mic connected to the over head light
all modules should have cables to them and fibres D2B network
cheers
Joe

I have an 06 str that is pre wired for voice control. I had to get a d2b splitter and add voice control as an option via sdd after installing the module. No experience with adding the phone but joe is definitely an expert i have found

Thanks for your replies!
I installed the plastic module (7W93-10D893-AB) included the fakra antenna, I have the not yet fitted the external microphone as I didn't want to cut into the headliner before module is working.
I have plugged in D2B and 1 plug in both modules.

To me it is suspicious that both modules are not working; both broken seems like real bad luck to me (supplier assured me both have been checked for functionality).

Will be checking the fuses when weather clears a bit.
Have been thinking about cleaning the contacts; D2B connectors with compressed air, grey wire connectors maybe lightest touch of WD40 (?)

Thanks again for your quick responses, this is much appreciated!

I thought I'd report back for future reference.
So I got it working..
I checked all the fuses and power to the plugs of both modules, all ok.

Next I focussed on the D2B connection and found out the pinning In and Out was reversed on the plug connecting the car harness to the harness for the modules.
Reversed pinning and both modules are now working!

So that the Navigation is working does NOT proof D2B is connected properly....(!)
Also it proofs "assumption is the mother of all f#ck-ups"...

Tomorrow will take a 'brave-pill' and cut into the headliner for placing the microphone.

Thanks for your support!
