Hello all, I have just bought a 2006 s type saloon se 2.7 diesel, my problem is with the reversing sensors, I get nothing from them at all, the previous owner told me they used to work then just stopped, the front sensors work fine, I’ve looked in the boot and the command module is in the tyre well and there are 3 connectors that have wires in each, which one is the front and which one is the rear as thought I could swap the wires around to see if it’s a module fault or the sensors or speaker.

I get nothing from the sensors when I put my ear to them with car in reverse but not started, also any idea where the speaker for sensors is as can’t find on the parcel shelf.

 

I don't think you can safely swap any of the wires - definitely a risk of damage not to say confusion.

Sorry I didn’t mean swap the wires I meant the connectors around, would that make any difference do you think? Any idea of which connector of the 3 does what?

 

I really would not do it. Instead do proper diagnosing. You might read its codes!! (Or have them read.)

 

quick update, I bought a new module which got the reversing sensor making an error beep so that meant the reversing speaker was working and then found that the passenger side corner rear sensor was dead, so I removed that after taking the rear headlight out and replaced it, now everything working as it should thanks for all your help.
