Default Mirror tilt, reversing sensors, Steering

I have this intermittent fault that's a bit annoying.
When switching off and removing the key the steering wheel stays where it is and when reversing the mirror fails to tilt and if the warning signal comes on when reverse selected you know the sensors aren't going to work but if it doesn't then they might work. Then another time it all works. I am thinking of a bad earth somewhere anybody have any other ideas? Also how far do the pedals adjust? Mine only travel about an inch.
Keep happy

Sometimes it's not easy to "keep happy" but you are right one should make an effort!

Mirror only tilts when reverse selected and only nearside mirror tilts.

If it does not tilt in reverse you need a dealer to program or buy a mongoose and do it yourself.

The steering wheel may stay where it is because it is at the end of it's travel or knob not set to auto.

WRT parking system the weak link in the system are the sensors. Sounds like you have a sensor on

the way out, but first check no water in spare wheel bay in boot and plug to black box on the side

of wheel bay is properly plugged in. Check also that sensors are clean and no debris in gaps around them.

Used sensors are available on E bay uk and you can drop down rear bumper and change one

yourself if you are so inclined.

We can help with more info.

Thanks Meirion.
I have only just bought the X350 and all was working well and then this started happening. I will try and see if I can buy a Mongoose but any particular model? I had something similar with the X308 but had to change the security module. I will give this all a go. I know there is no water in the wheel well of the boot so will look at plugs etc. as you suggested.

I am not sure that I can recommend a Mongoose since I had to replace the

original software that came with it and in the last few days it has just died.

Many people on this forum have had these problems with the Chinese clones which mine was.

It may be worth looking at a carsoft i930 I think it was which was recently

recommended on this forum

The best one may be a Mongoose from http://britishdiagnostics.co.uk which I am considering myself.

Thanks Meirion. Once I put the switch to Auto all but the reversing sensors still not working. I will have a look the carsoft and mongoose. I have a CAN OBD II ans I plugged it in as the engine light came on and had a P0420 Catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1. Cleared the code and it is OK now but I was reading the DATA and found that H02S fault Sys2 CL Faulty and whilst I was then all of a sudden the engine switched off and wouldn't start an I got the Lost Communication see Jaguar dealeer on the touchscreen. I unplugged the meter and all came good so I am going bin it.

Everything else is working but the reversing sensors. I now get the 3 sec warning when selecting reverse. Tried all the connections but still the same bought a new module and fitted that but still the same where else should I look?
Keep happy
