To add - P1383 and P1388 codes are related to the VVT system - most likely can be flagged due to oil viscosity issues - when was the last time you changed your oil? I would consider getting engine flush, idle for 15 - 20 minutes, drain and change oil to low viscosity (0W20, 5W20 or 5W30) and oil filter.

I typically run 1/2 to 1 qt of Mercon V trans fluid in the crankcase about 500 miles before my oil is due to be changed as trans fluid is highly detergent.

Ditto to all above. Also suggested, check the airbox and the hose that runs from air intake tube to cam cover.

Yep the P0174 is an air leak.
This link may help you out: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ics-faq-52720/
Be sure to look at the link in the first paragraph in referance to jagreapir.com

As for the P1383, P1388 abonano has you covered!

Thanks for the help. I found the vacuum hose that wasn't connected put that back on. As for the other two codes right now I'm running 5w-30 semi-synthetic. if that was the problem would it make my car run different and sound funny. i last changed the oil about two months ago but that was before i changed the spark plugs.

Possibly some of the codes were old - they're kept a longish while. Clear them and see what comes back. 5W30 is fine. Try abonano's advice if the 1383/etc comes back.

It just sounds weird I don't think it's just an oil change that's needed but ill try today

Try 5W20 oil instead of 5W30 - I have a 4.0 engine & I had a persistent P1388 code - I am running Castrol 0W20 full synthetic right now through the winter... Now, they could be legit codes flagged by the PCM but they typically sound funny when the passages are partially clogged (from what I remember) If your passages are partially blocked the new oil should do you good. Also, use an engine flush additive before draining the oil - Good Luck!

So I did the engine flush and oil change/filter went with the 5w/20. I deleted the codes they have not shown back up, but I have the sound still coming from the drivers side. It's loud when I start the car and when I accelerate, but the codes have not come back. Just a loud car now.

I don't see you flagging that loud sound in post #1, what happened?

I would give the new oil some time to work into the VVT units - if the noise persists, I would get it checked out. BTW, for some reason the driver's side VVT unit takes longer to clear up opposed to the passenger side... as another option you can add 1qt of Mercon V trans fluid (drain a quart of oil) and drive as normal - the trans fluid will work into the VVT units and clean them up of gunk, etc.
