Hi All, i'm new here so please bear with me, I have a S Type 2.7 diesel sport with a Manual gearbox, unfortunately the engine went in to orbit and would not switch off and now reading posts on this site i know why,the bottom end is destroyed and i'm finding out that it can't be repaired so i looked at another engine but these are going for £3000 upwards so my question is can a different engine be fitted in place of the 2.7 ? maybe a 3.0 ? the price to fix it outways the cost of the car which is a real shame because it is a beautiful car, any advice would be great guys

Because of the differences between engine characteristics, lots more would need changing than the engine, and their modules. Cheaper to buy a used petrol S-Type.

I have a 55 plate 2.7 6 speed with 126K miles that I have been trying to sort out and am considering selling the car for spares. Would you be interested? I am in North Devon.
