S-type can used PCM and ECM modules be reprogramed as replacement parts? 3.0L
Two 2 Question for ALL JAGUAR TECHS and to JAGUAR FACTORY TECHS reading this blog site:
A. Have any techs out there, had first-hand experience with re-programming of used Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) for 2001 3.0L S-type Jaguar?
(note: JTB 303-S139 says WDS system identifies PCM as = ECM)
1. Is reprogramming a PCM from a donor vehicle for use in similar S-type engine possible? (reprogramming used PCM)
2. What are issues or odd experiences?
PTEC system is quite unique.
Thank you

My understanding is a used one cannot be reprogrammed (by WDS / IDS etc).
(Clearly with resoldering etc it is likely it can be done, however.)
(The later - i.e. Denso - PCM type can be reprogrammed with some care and pain.)
