Hi all.

I am new to owning a Jag. I have brought a 99 S-Type, 3.0Ltr Auto Petrol. Had it for about 3-4 weeks and love the car more then anything else I have have ever driven. But...

An issue as come up and I'm not sure what it is...

There is some rattling from the engine bay. When I am idle or pushing it (more the 5000rps) It is on the drivers side. There is no smoke or anything like that coming and no leaks

So what do people think??

Not sure where Norfok is, so I will assume USA?????.

The rattling on a V6 MAY be:

The exhaust maniflod heat shields
The RH cat convertor is breaking up. They do that.
The transmission torque convertor. Drain and refill the transmision fluid a few times (6 is best) and see if the noise goes away, probably not. The trans fluid on these is a sadly forgotten item, and premature failures can occur. SOMETIMES, the fresh fluid sorts it, sometimes not.
