S-type Front Brake Pads Install
Well I thought I would give a go at replacing my front brake pads on my 2002 S-Type. I have a copy of the Tech Manual and it seems like you discard and replace the lower caliper bolt. I found the part for replacing and have some pads. It cautionsdo not push the pistons in as it causes back flow and possible damage!. Do you open a bleed? where? I need some advice or a step by step link. I thought this would be a little easier and i don't fancy paying my dealer $675.00 Again. Thanks for any help

RE: S-type Front Brake Pads Install
I opened the bleeder valve and attached a small plastic tube into an empty soda bottle and THEN compressed the cylinder with a "C" clamp. I heard from a mechanic that there is some kind of one-way valve in the line that could be damaged if you force brake fluid back up the line by compression. Another reason for bleeding it off is that you can replace old fluid with new (newer is always better than old brake fluid). I also read that same tech manual that said to discard the bolt...what for? So I didn't. Everything is fine so far.
Good luck!
