Default S-Type Gearbox oil change problems(?)

Hi all,

Been a little while since I've had much bother with the old cat... But at 100k, and nearly 16 years old, my ZF 6hp26 box was misbehaving. The revs were up and down when cold and some hesitation when pulling away. Seals and oil change it was. Anyway long story short, including grinding bolts off! it's done. The gear change is certainly smoother and less hesitation however after taking it for a longer drive it got very sad in sport mode, made a weird noise and power went. The mechatroic unit was out for a while (about a week) is it likely the adaptations have reset? I read that if this is done via the Juguar software I need to drive conservatively for some time and reset kick down, likely? Or is my issue actually busted solenoids? As I said the mechatronics was for some time and dried up of oil. It was also open for some time as too many bolts were taken out (don't ask) thoughts? Cheers. G

Could this be part of the equation?:

Remember, there's no need to type that out. It's just a given around here...

Fingers crossed! Hope the calibration helps.
