S type Interior lights

S type Interior lights

2003 S type, My interior lights will not go off after the car is started, nor do they go out when the vehicle is shut off. They will go off after a 40 minute delay. Does anyone know what this problem is? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

I had this problem with my lights, along with some other quirky behavior, and it was fixed by simply disconnecting the battery neg terminal for a few minutes. Fresh reboot solves lot of computer gliches in these cars. try that yet?

If that doesnt fix it, when you sit in car, open and close each door with ignition on. See if you get a message or not on each door saying it is open when it is open. Does message go out hen door is closed.
Sounds like a bad door latch.
It goes out after 40 minutes due to car shuts off module power at this time.

have you tried the main interior light switch? maybe it is pressed on.

You know you guys are right going thru the posts a lot of PLEASE HELP I AM
DEPSPERATE but after the advice is given even if it is just you will have to go to the dealer they never post back what the fix was or thanks.
I am still waiting for the outcome on my S from the mechanic hopefully this afternoon
they have had it 3 days.
