Unhappy S Type parking aid.

2005 S Type rear parking aid does not work. I get the 3sec beep, have changed the module{new one} ,got someone to listen to all sensors and all making clicking noise. Have had it pluged into computor and showing no faults. Any ideas.

Check the parking aid speaker located under rear package shelf.

The Reverse Parking Aid module should have faults logged but you WON'T read it with a standard OBDII scanner. That reads the ECM but NOT the Body or Chassis codes.

It's irrelevant which speaker. The system has detected a fault and if the sensors are OK then it's somewhere else. It's not the speaker. To read faults see Bob's post.

I am not sure about the three second beep, but if your sensors are clicking and can't be heard through the speaker,I would think the speaker is bad. There is a lot of info on this site. Try searching for rear park assist. My 2001 S Type had similar problems and the speaker was the problem with it.

oldmaned - yours did the 3-second beep? It sounds very unlikely.

I think it beeped a few times before the speaker stopped working.
I believe all S Types have the speaker under the parcel shelf. You can probably determine this by searching this forum. I took mine to american tire company and they replaced the speaker without removing the parcel shelf. I believe they charged me $80.00 for labor. I bought the speaker from the Jag dealer for about $60.00. Their estimate for labor to replace it was over $200.00.

Get the codes read on a Jaguar enhanced code reader like enginuity etc. that will pinpoint the sensor which has failed, it is pointless charging about with out basic info
