Default S Type Parts Catalog

Somewhere in my wanderings I found and down loaded a mfg catalog of S Type parts ... very nice with exploded views and complete Jag parts numbers. As luck would have it, just as I needed to replace the front sway bar bushings and ends, my laptop dropped its hard drive and ,of course, the catalog. The result was buying the parts from a vendor rather than shopping Ebay which prudence requires a check of the OEM number. According to many of the Ebay sellers, everything fits an STR.
If any are interested in a recent resolution of a front end knock..I learned a great deal from some smart Jag techs.

Does anyone have a link to my "lost" s type parts manual?

not me, and haven't seen one...but if you find it, send me an email and I'll get it hosted on our forum's mediashare account, never to be lost again. We've got the xk8-xkr, and the 07+ XJ parts diagrams, but no s-type or x-type equivalent. Good luck on the hunt!

I've been trying to use the DriveHQ exploded parts list located at http://www.drivehq.com/web/jfenley/P..._2000-2005.pdf but dealers and parts resellers don't seen to recognise any of the XR???????? part numbers. The part number given to me for the parts which I need doesn't match the number shown in the DriveHQ parts list.

Does anyone know why?

Odd. I've bought quite some number of XR8... parts.

Presumably superseded but when I've used such a number they just told me the new one.

Maybe a clueless parts guy?

Do the numbers correlate to those shown in JPEC?

Don't know about this JPEC everyone keeps mentioning - I can't seem to find it or get connected to it.

Can you give me the actual link please?

I've doubled checked the DriveHQ parts explosion - it is titled S-type 2000-05 which is correct. My car is a S-type 2001 so the parts list should be correct unless it is miss-labeled.

Could it be that part numbers are different here in the UK for some reason? I can't imagine why the window locking motor/solenoid that I am trying to locate would be different.

May not be available separately. If it's not then it won't be in dealer parts lists.

I've had another good look through this thread for a link to JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) - I have found two links; 1) http://www.drivehq.com/web/jfenley/P..._2000-2005.pdf from JagV8 which I have been trying to use but it appears to have incorrect part numbers which dealers and parts suppliers don't recognise and 2) https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s-...ed-xmas-48052/ from joycesjag which I have downloaded and installed as per the instructions. Having throughly examined this manual, I can report that it is actually NOT a JEPC but rather a JTIS (Technical Service Publication) and does NOT include a parts breakdown with part numbers. It is actually a Maintenance Manual covering everything from Fault Diagnostics to Servicing Instruction and even Electrial Schematics but NOT spare parts.

My thanks to everyone so far for your feedback and help but does anyone have any other sources for obtaining a parts explosion and numbers for a Jaguar S-type, 2001, v6, 3L?

If you followed the link I provided and followed the directions on how to download then open you should not have a problem viewing the electronic parts catalog.

How strange. No idea how that happened. Maybe Rick can have a look?

In the interim, post the part number(s) you get from that other document and I will cross check with JPEC.

Everyone with an S-Type should do themselves a big favor and order a free copy of the new SNG Barratt Group S-Type catalog. See the sticky thread at the top of the S-Type section for instructions on how to get one. It is a fantastic, detailed publication and it is free. No excuse not to order your copy today....

Right on Jon!

roygore, I just downloaded my above link (again) and it is working fine on my machine including part numbers and (obsolete) pricing.

Are you clicking the "+" tabs for the MY then clicking on the next dropdown box for part numbers? I did just a couple of parts in different categories and had zero problems.

I also just tried JoycesJag JEPC link and it is all working and very well explained how to install.

Are you looking in the right place?
