S type's without the chrome on them?

S type's without the chrome on them?

I have noticed some s types have no chrome on them under the grill, and on the back. why is this?

buying one and noticed the chrome is not there. wondering if i can just put the sticker chrome on it or something?

I own an s-type 4.2L sport that also came without the chrome trimmings (no problem) an had one jag service mechanic mention that it was basically the STR look without the STR goodies under the hood.

The sport models had body coloured corner mouldings and grille along with other mods.
