I have used seafoam several times on several vehicles... oil = 1 can for less than 100 miles of driving, then change the oil again (try to drive at least 40 miles or so).

I have also used it in the fuel to help keep things clean (1 can per tank once a month)

I have also used it in the intake vacuum lines on my Land Rover to keep the carbon build up issue away that Rovers are known for.

You can buy Seafoam at Walmart or most Parts stores.

I used it in my 2000 Ford Ranger recently.

Just go on youtube and type in seafoam... You can use the back booster vac. or one on the throttle body.... There are tons of How to videos on there.

I would try it through the fuel system but never I mean never dump anything like that into my engine oil..... It can strip the stuff you don't want stripped and guess what? You will be doing a rebuild before you know it!

The best fuel injector cleaner hands down is Lucas.... I use it every couple of tanks full..... I took a injector that had crud all over the screen wouldn't pump any fuel. Dipped it in a cup a Lucas pulled it out the screen on the end looked new the injector ran great after that....

I was sold!!!!

What problems are you experiencing that make you want to use this product?

I use it to clean the top end on my Land Rover as well, because the 4.0 is a gunky sumbitch. The STR does not appear to need it. Run premium fuel and let the detergents in it do their thing. Run a quality motor oil.

You won't have the smoke show unless you go in via a vac line. Of course, you could use just plain distilled water to steam clean the engine with this method instead of Seafoam.

Save your money.

Most people use Seafoam and similar 'to keep bad things from happening' without realizing that they wouldn't have happened anyway nor is any 'miracle in bottle' capable of fixing them. If an engine is sick enough to be suffering it needs to be repaired properly.

Seafoam does a great job for it's original purpose- keeping 1950's vintage 2 stroke outboard motors from clogging up while in storage. Not much in common between those and a modern computer controlled car engine.
