A silly topic ive opened, im sure there is plenty info on this, but i have a few questions and dont want to wake up old different threads.

what are the major differences between seats? (Ive numbered them so its easier to compare)

Do they come in different sizes?
I saw the stype R ones are beefy, but are they bigger than the diesel version ones for example?
I have the 2003 ones and they are small. My shoulders are almost at the headrest and i want lumbar support.
ive found #2 ones at a good price, they have lumbar support, but are they bigger?

I am 6ft 4in and have an 06 str and love those seats. Plenty of room for a big guy. Nice lumbar movement too

 

Some people with restricted movement or of a large build (er, can I say fat?) may find the STR seats awkward.

 

I have wondered for a while what the difference is between different year seats. I’ve sat in quite a few different year and model s types and by far the most plush and comfortable are the 2000-2002 seats. Maybe they reduced some weight or leather on the models after the initial run of s types. Not sure.
