Service at 100,000 km
Hi,
My 2006 s type will cross over to 100,000 km soon. want to get a check up done. Here in Dubai where im living there are a lot of rip offs so im confused whether to get one of their "140 point check up" and pay a gazillion dollars or get a select number of checks done.
Any suggestions?
Im thinking of getting the oil, brakes and the battery checked.

If you plan to keep the car don't do any inspections. Do proper maintenance!
Change the transmission fluid and filter, Replace the rear end oil, Replace the P/S fluid, Replace the coolant.
If you don't plan to keep the car just keep driving and sell it. Most people do this.

Coolant should have been done in 2011 (every 5 years or 150,000 miles)
The advertised life expectancy of long life coolant fills such as Dexcool only applies to the factory fill. Thereafter, it is half or so.
According to the manufacturers.
A sensible line of reasoning would be that the factory fill is under vacuum in a dry system. A flush and fill is done under different conditions, not the least of which is the fact that the system remains somewhat contaminated with the old fill. Some mechanics are now using vacuum lift systems, but not all.
BTW, for Dubai the air filter is a must service item.
And yes, the severe service schedule most probably applies.
In fact the severe service schedule applies to most vehicles if one reads the manufacturer definition of what constitutes severe service.
