Setup Bluetooth
The first question is do you have bluetooth fitted?
It was an expensive option in 2003. All cars have the phone button even if they have no bluetooth fitted.
In 2003 it would have been the system with two parts, a metal control box in the boot and the smaller BTUM in the center glove box.
This system also requires either the voice control module or a link in the voice control connector and the voice microphone or a seperate microphone.
This two part system can only have one phone paired at a time.
The factory bluetooth will also only work for phone calls, it will not work for texts or music.
The later one part black plastic module (again fitted in the boot) that was fitted to the X type from 2008 also works and is better as it is easier to fit, can have more than one phone paired with it and it has a signal meter in the display. (I think it works with more modern phones as well, but I am not sure??)
but it still only works for phone calls.
