My 5R55N started shifting poorly (pretty hard actually) between 2-3 and 3-4. I can't remember the code off the top of my head and although I am fairly certain a new shift kit would take care of my woes, I am curious if anyone would know why when I place my transmission into Sport Mode, the poor shifting stops. All shift points return, soft and smooth.


Anyone know why?

 

I think it will shift faster, which can feel as harsher but may be overcoming whatever is not happy. Short of fluid, worn, or whatever.

 

When I purchased the car it was just over 70k. I'm fairly certain that no work was done on the transmission prior so I am hoping the issue will be resolved with a good flush and topping it off with some clean fluid.
