Default Starting problem

I'll start at the start. the car is a s type 3.0 ltr manual. Ok its been parked up over the winter (inside) so when i went to the car the battery was flat. I removed the battery and recharged, getting distracted i then did not replace the battery for about 4 weeks. with a fully charged battery the key fob no longer arms/disarms the alarm/immob when i put the key in the ignition and turn it, the streeing lock does not disengage and the only light that comes on is the airbag light. I'm stummped. It was 100% fine when parked up. Help........

Try to get more data about the electrics.

E.g. do any lights work? Do any work which impose a heavy load (headlights, fogs, ...)?

Measure voltage at the battery and as far from it as you can, both with the biggest load you can impose. Ideally at the starter motor.

(Because many batteries are effectively dead following what you posted.)

Next, how dry is/was the "inside"?

I have replaced the battery with a new one. i have also replaced the battery in the alarm fob. The inside is dry (kept in a garage). The radio is asking for a code but the lights etc do no work at all. Only sign of life is the radio and the airbag light.

I'd use a voltmeter and follow the various stuff shown in the appropriate guide from JTIS or here

Jaguar electrical reference

Try bypassing the radio code using FFWD (>>) & AMEM & PTY (together).

Bear in mind some things will work (at least partly) with hardly any volts but not others.

Ok i have now got most of the electrics working. Still can not get ignition lights, I think this could be an immobilizer problem. The doors now lock and open, the alarm sets and turns off but the doors auto lock as soon as you open them with the fob. almost sorted so anyone else help with tips or idea's?

If the alarm sets and unsets I don't believe it's immobiliser-related. It might be something like the gear shift interlock (which isn't really immobiliser) or the contacts related to ignition (also not immobiliser).

No it's not. By law (EU & UK).

Which is why it's built into the PCM and parts are in other modules as well.

You don't appear to have an immo problem as I've answered in your other thread. BTW, you won't be loved by the mods if you create multiple threads.

What got it started and running?

Any jag dealer can get you the code if you provide proper ID and proof of ownership - or email jag.

One of the larger fuses. checked them all before by sight and all seemed fine. decided to do a continuity check on them all, 1 had a very fine hairline crack in it. replaced and away she went.
