Default STR: gearbox fault (p0735) on kickdown

When putting my foot down the other day;
- bit of delay
- gearbox seems to scream a bit
- bit of a clunk
- "gearbox fault" and then the gearbox stuck in gear (4,000rpm at 70mph = 4th?)

Geabor faults were P0735, P0729 and one or two others I now forgot (duh!).

P0735 = gear 5 incorrect ratio
P0729 = gear 6 incorrect ratio

Once reset the car was fine, it goes into sixth cruising no problem. But the problem has reoccurred on hard acceleration - this time only throwing P0735 (incorrect 5th gear ratio).

Googling this on the internet hasnt thrown up much useful information! The gearbox was service in December - about 6,000 miles ago.

My local indi dont seem to have any ideas - anyone got any?

First thought is to check:
1. what was and wasn't done in the "service"
2. exact fluid used for the "service"
3. fluid level now

After that it may get expensive.

Another vote for fluid level. Has to be right.
