Default Stupid question re cylinder heads

My 2004 4.2 v8 s type
has decided to drop two valve seats in the cylinder heads
number 7 & 8
I have started pulling engine apart
I have had to order a crankshaft pulley removal tool from the United states and have been told it will take 4 weeks to arrive
as there are none in new Zealand
my question is is there a way to remove the cylinder heads
without taking the lower trimming chain cover off
As i can't do that until i receive the tool
I would really like to know what part i am going to have to purchase
and at least I can have them on the way as every thing has to come from the uk or usa
Thanking you
Darrol

In terms of parts, I would contact Barratt's; they should have a handle on everything you will need; they also operate in both the US and GB. BTW, you really should indicate your general location in your profile - this helps us to help you...

Got a picture of this tool? If it’s not too complex, could you fabricate something to do the job? Or modify a universal puller available locally? Might beat waiting a month.
