I have a 2003 Stype R and here are the symptoms:

1. when at a stop (ocasionally) the TC seems to unlock and if I press on the accelerator it does not go for a few seconds.
2. When giving it over 1/3 throttle it will slip occasionally

Any ideas? If it were mechanical I would expect it to be consistent, but it is not-
sometimes it drives just fine, other times slipping- weather and temp do not seem to be a factor. Have tried both sport and non sport mode as well as traction control off and on same results.

I am hoping someone has had the same issue and can shed light. I do have a spare trans if I need to replace but would prefer not to have to go through all that.

 

Have you done a drain-and-fill of your ATF? If so, what ATF did you use? Are you positive that your ATF is currently at the proper fill level?

 

Start with fuel trims via OBD and also check for any pending codes.

Any engine issue can upset the trans.

Also be sure your battery is not tired or flat as that upsets anything rather randomly.
