Default Sum b*tch....limp mode....

It was a torrential downpour today. I parked my car to have some lunch and came out 30 minutes later. Drove off into the pouring rain and about 2 miles away it struck my car...not lightning, but limp mode. Luckily I was near an exit and coasted off the highway and into an empty parking lot. After sitting for about 10 minutes all the alarms and lights went away except for the check engine light. Drove off with no problems now.

I have an aftermarket warranty but is it worth taking to the dealership? The throttle body was replaced before and the plug on the passenger side has silicone where it looks like they sealed it up. I remember someone had posted about debris in a micro switch?

Get the code read and see if it's a misfire...I had the same problem awhile back..it was a bad coil pack after a heavy rain

The mere presence of silicone on the harness does not guarantee that the previous water intrusion issue has been completely eliminated. You may need a more consistent seal underneath your windshield cowl. The more moisture you can keep out of your engine bay, the better your chances of avoiding future limp mode episodes....
