Then obviously these S4's also have torque limiters like the 5.0 SC have, lucky them ;-)

Wuzupez - May well be but if Audi/VW shipped the cars you mention already tuned to the max then no chip would do more than a tiny amount. That's the situation with the STR - Jaguar already did this stuff.

With about 400 I'm not interested in adding a few to my car and don't really have money to throw. I'm interested in the ideas, though! But I already know it's a tough challenge and cannot be done cheaply. We've been over and over this for years now.

The AJ34 has plenty of power potential, with the right mods, it's just no one has gotten serious about it like the mercedes guys have with their engine platforms. And realistically no big company ever will, jaguar represents too small of a market share in the performance aftermarket

That's been said lots of times, too. We're waiting for someone who wants this to go do it. No one has.

Care to elaborate on what you think is 'plenty of power potential' in the case of the 4.2 (on a stock blower)? And what "the right mods" you think would be to get said power?

I don't see he said stock blower and I also think it's not possible with one.

Jags have a reputation for highly-tuned engines which you tinker with at your peril for fear of failure in one or other of the supporting components, which are tightly specified to match engine performance.

For a car worth $60,000, it may not be worth the risk. For my STR with a probable value of $12k, what the hell! Let's go, Avos.

Well, I'm not going to spend any more money on minor upgrades, except for high-flow cats when the OEM's begin to fail. It's twin-screw or nothing, depending on Avos' final cost. More than a few dimes.

Nobody said making big power was cheap : )
I'll be going for bigger power, just have to catch up on other projects first.

For a start the exhaust is being replaced from the manifolds back, the supercharger is getting ported, over spun and water/meth injection. Then the intercooler/intake runners need to be opened up on these cars, and zee tuning

I don't think you'll get much even with all of those, but do be sure to dyno before so you can compare.

GT42R thanks for testing out your Str with Eurocharged Performance. Jerry is a stand up guy and you can never go wrong with his work. I never knew he did STR's until you mentioned it earlier in another post. I'm leaning to do a Remote Dyno tune + TCM tune on my S55 AMG with a pulley upgrade which I have to install on my own. Its a lot easier than changing one on a STR.

But anyhow seeing what you gained 11.4 HP and 5.7 Torque, sounds like a nice increase as expected with these cars. I think with a lot more time for Jerry to tinker around with the STR he can do a lot better since he just came for the day and spent few hours on you car to come up with 11.4hp and 5.7 torque is not to shabby. The TCM would be a great addition if he can tune! Never the less thanks a whole bunch for going out of your way to help the STR community to finally test out a verified tune

Just left Eurocharged in Houston. Went to get SC pulley and tuning. I was told my 2005 S Type R ECU was too old and they couldnt pull up the information from the ECU.... WTF?????

Companies seem poor at coping with our cars.

Could be true...

The local Viezu agent connected his laptop to my XJR (2005MY) last year and was unable to read from it. He made a call to the Australian head office and they told him it was not possible to read/flash via the OBD2 port, only directly from the EEPROM i.e. ECU has to come out....

That's untrue (as IDS can do it), but I suppose they meant that their company can't do it.

There's no (EEPROM or the like) chip that can be readily removed. You'd never get it back, either!! They sound like they've never had a PCM apart (I have LOL).
