Default Throttle body

Looking to purchase a new throttle body for my 00 s type. Engine won't turn on on safe mode and codes lead to the throttle body. I've already cleaned the throttle body as good as I can and gave up. Rather just by the part. Anyone give me direction on finding one besides the dealer? I can't find much online thanks .

What code(s) are you getting? Please post them...

Are you having this issue all the time or only when it rains? Could be the TPS as well.

If your looking for a new TB - brace yourself... dealer only item and very expensive...

Best bet would be to source a used one from a junkyard or eBay.

Not sure the exact codes I'll have to get them, mobile mechanic ran it for me.
I found some used on eBay for $200 never used eBay before not sure if it's legit. But may be the way to go besides the dealer , not sure what they quote at.

As abonano said, buy second hand from ebay and pay with paypal.

I had codes, about 4 years ago, indicating problems with my throttle body and it turned out to be a corroded wire in the loom under the right hand headlight. I'm not saying that you could have the same issue, but codes are only an indication of what might be wrong.

If buying from eBay, typically there are no returns unless specifically stated on the listing page. So be sure you are buying from a seller who is highly rated and has good feedback from previous purchasers.

Have yours rebuilt by ASI. If you go to my page you will find a link for them. The cost is about $300.00.

It's important for your signature to include details about your car if you want us to help you out, so please fix it first chance you get (look at abonano's, corv's, or my signatures for examples)

I don't know what engine your MY 2000 S-Type has, but here's a TB on eBay from a reputable seller for <$500 inc free shipping and 6 month money back guarantee; it's for the 3.0L base model...

SALE on all Throttle Bodies - FREE U.S. SHIPPING

There are other listings for this TB too, also from what appear to be reputable sellers. My point is - if you are a savvy shopper you can save a bundle over dealer prices by buying on eBay, as was suggested above.

Give us more details about your engine size and car configuration and we/I can help you.

An even better/cheaper alternative.

Narrowed the issue to my fuel injection fuse. I replaced it car turned on, then blew out. Put a new one in and drove for a bit but noticed the car was overheating from the gauge. Guess ima be replacing the radiator tomorrow. There's still a short somewhere from that fuse those "fuel injector fuse" anyone deal with this before?

What are the codes? Also the overheating could be caused by a water pump and or thermostat or radiator.

hi, my jag s-type 2001 3L v6 model is in limp mode after I was fiddling with the main fuse box trying to get the air-conditioning started.

after starting the car the vehicle goes into Engine Fail Safe mode with the following errors

P1000 System check on completed since last memory cleared.
P1574 Throttle position sensor disagreement between sensor
P1576 Accelerator pedal position unavailable.
P1577 pedal position sensor disagreement between sensor.

I have changed the accelerator pedal and the throttle body which I have bought from E bay second hand.

the errors are still the same. please advise as I cant afford the dealer workshop for repairs.

In researching this issue in the past I learned that there are aftermarket vendors in the UK that sell new TBs for around $500. Just a thought.
