The way the coolant circuit is back there, is the EGR then TB then the return.

I bypassed the EGR warmer and TB Warmer/cooler. and got rid of the pesky under blower hose. I did notice a 2-3 MPG loss but maintained great throttle reponse when the car is sitting in traffic heatsoaking to death.

The mpg figure will also suffer. On this one I'm sure Jag. designers are 100% right.
Leedsman.
I seriously doubt that there would ever be an icing problem. My guess is heating the throttle body is to reduce emissions. Carburetors on airplanes ice but I've never seen a fuel injected engine have an icing problem.

I guess you might not in Florida. It's a real issue elsewhere and has nothing to do with emissions.

The post you dug up is four years old BTW.

I dug it up because this hose has failed on my 2004 XJ8. I repair my own vehicles so I was simply researching similar problems Mr. Sunshine. Why don't you just ban people who "dig up" old posts?

The comment is typically made as courtesy to the poster who frequently is unaware that he's turned over a long dead turd and is expecting a response. Given that you summarily pronounced every one else wrong and contributed nothing else I assumed that in your haste, you might have overlooked this.

My mistake.

Just in case anybody reads this in the future.
I did this to my supercharged Tiburon. BYPASS
I never had a problem and in theory you want the air to be cold. The colder the air the better performance you will get.
My Tiburon is over 13 years old and still runs like a bat outta hell.
I never had a problem and I am going to do this to my jag s type now.

Regards

Don't be surprised if it throws codes.

Default Mystery part to throttle body cooling hose

Hello. Do you know whether or not this piece that is protruding outward is supposed to be connected to something? I have a 2016 Jaguar XJL.
