Default TPS installation adjustment tips or settings?

I just received and installed a new TPS unit to try and cure a recurring P2135 engine fault and limp mode "inconveniences" (multiple recent posts).

When TPS first installed, engine starts right up but idles and runs erratically. Idles above 1200 rpm and when revved, it just settles lower and shuts off. No fault codes were stored or pending. Tried this 3X, same result.

I just found some other posts about TPS rotational adjustments to set idle voltage across TP1. I've surmised that this may be different for different MY and engines so does anyone have the correct setting for my '05 Base S-Type 4.2L? Is a setting of 0.75V close enough across TP1?

After resetting to the correct idle voltage (whatever that may be) , do I need to perform a hard reset (battery disconnect) before I'm done? I did just replace the battery before installing the TPS.

Could this be why dealer only sells TPS installed on entire TB assy and this is pre-set?

I don't think they're meant to be adjusted. Find a working car and measure it?

Car remains in limp mode after new TPS installed. Not sure where to find another similar model to measure voltage per JagV8's suggestion.

Let it idle (in limp mode) for 5 minutes to try and reset ECM itself but no change. Still getting Engine system fault/ Parkbrake fault/DSC not available/Cruise not available on dash plus DSC light is on.

Performed a hard reset per SuperSport's instructions but no change. No fault codes logged but car remains in limp mode.

SUGGESTIONS FOR WHAT TO TRY NEXT???

try ebay for a known working used TB . if that route fails you most likely have a damaged connector or wire . but at least with ebay you can get your money back if the TB is defective .

+1 on a used throttle body. Just make sure it still has the TPS still installed.

Several years ago, my '02 V6 kept throwing a TPS-related code (can't remember the exact one) and intermittently going into limp mode.

At the time, a replacement TPS by itself was several hundred dollars. A guaranteed used throttle body on eBay, complete with TPS, was less than $100. Piece of cake to change the whole throttle body, with no problems since then.

I played around with the old TPS, expecting to find a dead spot in the sweep. It tested just fine. My hunch was a fault in the circuit card of the throttle body, but I've no way to prove that.
