Hello, I recently purchased a 02 jaguar s type sport 3.0 and am having an issue with a leak. It appears I'm leaking fluid out of the vent tube where it connects up at the engine and its leaking down the sides and making its way to the inspection plate. There is also some fluid on outside passenger side of gearbox. I have checked the cooler lines and they are in good shape. It seems to leak a lot more the harder it is driven.could it have been overfilled from previous owner? Or a seal is bad ? I'm not getting any check lights and its shifting smooth, Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,thanks

Oops, you have an '02, different transmission, yours is a 5R55x, but maybe you can get an idea

 

Thanks, I'm hoping its just overfilled and will stop.it is only leaking when transmission is in a gear. Won't leak when its sitting parked or idling.

 

An 02 should not have the ZF, it should be 5R55N if auto. Lots of info on the net but it's hard to overfill!
