Hello all,
I'm not sure if the wheel model Triton (18") was also available on the S-Type outside the UK, but I'm trying to figure out if they fit the facelift S-Type R (ATE brakes) for winter tyres. Has anyone, anywhere, fitted a set to that car? They are obviously the same size and offset, but are they ok for clearing the calipers? I may be buying a set from some distance away, which will be a waste of time if they don't fit.

Hi JimSTR, I've been looking at the Triton wheels myself on eBay uk.
Good looking wheels. But I've no idea how to find out if they would fit an STR other than finding someone online who has already fitted them.
Not much use.

Or just buy one wheel and tyre and then if it doesn't fit you won't loose very much.

They look too narrow for the STR and thus would never have been used by Jaguar on the STR. I suppose that would be a modification from an insurance point of view.

Whether they're strong enough and/or would clear the STR brakes I don't know.

 

The Triton wheels were only made in 8 inch width so are not suitable for use on the STR's that should have 8 inch wide wheels on the front and 9.5 inch wide wheels on the back.
So even if they fit on they are not suitable for use on an STR.

Only the Zeus, Vulcan and 19" Barcelona wheels have the wider 9.5 inch rears.
