Can anyone tell me is Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil is a good choice for the v6 s-type. And changing it about every 6k? thanks.

 

Haha..this forum is full of "wars" over what type of oil to use...it's kind of funny actually.

I think most of us came up with the consensus to use what we feel most comfortable with. Many of us use conventional and many use synthetics.

Personally, I use synthetic and change it about every 6k-7k miles. I don't really stick with one brand per say, because I usually take advantage of the oil change specials at Advance Auto. Most of the time though, I buy Castrol Syntec. I've used Mobil 1 before as well.

Make sure you use a good oil filter too.

Yup, plenty of discussion on this. If the oil is being changed at less than the factory interval, there's no use paying extra for long life synthetics.

 

That's the answer, use whatever oil you feel good about within the specs recommended by Jaguar.
Change it as near to the 10K Jag recommendation as you feel good with.

 

Yes on Mobil 1 - and you can go 10K miles between changes but if your comfortable at 6K miles - go for it... also the Mobil 1 filter is good also...
