Default Upsize wheels

I upsize the stock 16" wheels to 17" wheels on my 2003 S Type Basic. The 17" wheels are Jaguar wheel from a S Type R. Now there is a clicking sound similar to a bad wheel bearing. Is there something I need to do when I upsize the wheels like add a spacer between the brake drum and the wheel?

Welcome to the Forums.

Follow Jim's mudmap, and that group will have the answers.

Nothing I know of with that simple upgrade.

Good luck.

Hi Jarman,

I have moved your thread to the forum for the X200 S-Type. Here you will find knowledgeable owners of similar cars.

Cheers,

Don

The STR came with 18" wheels?
You need a few more posts but a picture or two might help?

If they are original Jaguar S-Type wheels, any should fit over the standard brakes on the base 3.0. The offset is around ET60. This will be stamped on the inner side of a spoke. For a 17" wheel, it will be about 7.5" wide. Tyre size should be 235/50 17. X-Type wheels can look similar but have some differences. They say that they should not be used on S-Types.

If all this matches up, start from the basics. Jack up the car and see if rotating any wheel is the cause of the clicking noise and take it from there.
