Default v8 not starting please help me!!

hi al,im stuck in the middle of nowhere due to a family issue and need to get back home but the car will not start was fine monday when i arrived.it has plenty of fuel,i have had trouble on the odd occasion when engine is warm starting it,seem to crank more times than when cold and spluters but from cold is always fine.engine is cranking and battery is good,i have tried with jump leads.anyone have a clue??

car is a t reg 98-99 i think,ok update!!after many attempts i got it going with damp start so is ok now but what would cause it?i pressume fuel pump?thankyou for your reply!

Yours is a Nikasil block so it could be as simple as bore wash.
The other thing is to change the fuel filter if it hasn't recently been done.

Could easily be bore wash

Info on here if you Search and also on the UK forum with some suggestions as how to avoid it. (Only affects the 4.0 of the S-Type engines.)

Except... I don't see how damp start would fix it if it were that. Anyone?

Only surmising but Damp Start will fire with virtually no compression - maybe big end fling did the rest ?
I love the Ozzy version.

LOL! "Start Ya *******" LOL! Agree, likely swung the crank fast enough while increasing compression.
