Any advice?

All Ford dealerships here in the US carry Mercon SP. Is that not the case for Ford dealerships in Canada?

Bought mine here at a good price. The caveat is that it's only available in case quantities.

I'm wondering where you are getting the tranny cover from. I'm in the process of doing a flush of the ATF of a 2007 S & the filter and gasket are part of the tranny cover but Jaq Canada are quoting a very high price for the replacement (plastic) cover.
I'm told you can get the Mercon through Ford.

You can also try a BMW dealer or parts supplier---a number of their cars used the 6HP26 6spd auto transmission.

For what the ZF liquid gold? As mentioned many times, you cannot beat the Mercon SP as an less expensive alternative!

I personally many years back changed oring and filter. I used Castrol multi import vehicle ATF that matched the shell spec. of the liquid gold ZF. Castrol must have changed their formula, it is no longer meeting the shell spec. I will be doing a drain and fill on Joyces Jag in the near future. I wiil use the Mercon SP!

I think he meant for parts other than oil.

Though I'd contact Klaus - if I didn't live over here...

(Here, I'd consider www.bristoltransmissions.co.uk)

Don't know of any source here for the cover and sleeve. I'd just order them from Klaus as suggested.
