Default very rough idle..need help!!

i have a 2003 str with about 160kms. i had it in 2 replace my egr valve & a few studs on the exhaust manifold. i was kind of rushing my mechanic because i really wanted the car back 2 go out for new years but when i went to pick up the car it was running really rough, shaking everytime i stopped. when i accelerate it feels fine only when i come to a stop it get really rough & i knew it couldnt b good driving like that but my mechanic told me it was fine to drive so stupidly i took it anyway. new years day i brought the car back to him to try n fix it & i dont know what happend but he ended up bringing it back to a jaguar dealership & they replaced all 8 coils & a o2 sensor control chip in bank 1. from driving it on new years i needed burned out my catalytic converters so i had it brought 2 a shop to put performance cats on & its still running the exact same way as it was $5000 ago.

heres all the codes its still giving & a little video clip so you can hear how bad it sounds...my cars just been sitting in the shop for the last 2 months & they cant figure out the problem. im really hoping someone here can.

P0301 P0302 P0303 P0304 P0305 P0306 P0307 P0308 - i know these are misfires on all cylinder but i just had all new coils

P1316 P1646 P0400 & P1000 12 codes in total

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN4B4gOpuc4

i forgot to mention i dont know to much about cars to begin with, im sure its pretty obvious lol but when i first took the car in for work the only problems i had was a ticking/chugging on cold starts & it was supposed to be from the EGR & a leaking driver side exhaust manifold. now i got 10 more problems & i feel like putting a brick on the gas pedle & driving the car right through his shop lmao jks

From what you say, the mechanic made a mess of the EGR/etc job. I don't understand why you've paid $5000, as he should have fixed his bad work at his cost. You now have so many problems you'll need a good tech to figure out what the real problems are and which codes, if any, are knock-on effects. Unless you're good with cars you're not going to DIY this and I doubt we can guess what has been screwed up. The last thing to do is any non-standard parts until it's fixed IMO.

thanks for the reply jagv8...around $3500 came outta my pocket so far & probably close to $2000 my mechanic has paid for the coils & some towards the new cats. i know i shouldnt have to pay any extra costs for problems that he made while doing the other work but hes a friend & did help me out plenty times in the past so i can just leave it all up to him now lol

the last i heard from my mechanic is he thinks it might be a leaking/cracked breather hose...can just a leaking air hose make it run that bad ??? im hope its something small like that but with my luck i doubt it will be something cheap like a hose lol ....thanks again

Have the coils and spark plugs been connected in the right order? It'll run with some of them transposed but like a three legged donkey down a spiral staircase. It won't do your emissions any good let alone valves etc.

P1316 Misfire Rate Exceeds Emissions
P1646 Linear O2 Sensor

Control Chip (Bank 1)

Above are two of your code translations.

There is a little hose somewhere buried in the engine compartment somwhere that splits and causes a leak into the inlet manifold. Trouble is I can't remember whether it is the V6 or the V8 affected !! Yours is a V8 engine if it is an 'R'.

I can see no reason to do anything with the throttle body. Don't risk causing yet more trouble!

Look in jtis or on GTR for the details of P1316 and P1646, as really the meaning given so far is not what's there as far as I can see.

The little hose sounds like the PCV elbow on the V6.
