Vibration Damper (or Crank Shaft pully) Bolt
Hi All,
I need to know which way to turn the bolt for removal. I tried either way but the bolt is on there really tight. I'm guessing this is not "lefty loosie". for removal i think I should be applying "clockwise" force on the bolt. Please confirm.
Thanks,

Ummmmm, I am assuming one of the V8's??????.
If so, it is a standard RH thread, sooooo looking at the front of the engine anti-clockwise to release, and they are SUPER tight, and a new bolt is highly recommended. I did the last one by attaching a looooong 3/4" breaker bar to the socket (forget the size already), and resting that bar end on the concrete floor, and "flicked" the starter motor, simple as.
You might want to unplug a sensor, or fuel pump relay so the engine cannot fire up, but I did not, as the key action is a simple "quick flick" and thats it.
Some say it is a rough approach, maybe so, but no harm is done and it's simple.
Re-tightening is a pain, either a big torgue rattle gun, or lock the crankshaft, and heave on a long bar.
