Default well, i removed the EPB completely:

disconnected all the lines, took it out of the car. So it was as i suspected. The gear inside is trashed. Electrically it works fine.

what a pain in the rear to get it out. it took about an hour just to disconnect the whle thing and get it out. i took the gearbox apart, and the stepper gear ( 2 gears on one shaft) is the one that is gone. It was pretty easy to see where the failure occured. ill take pics later on and show the point of failure.

that applied to the module, not the actuator(motor assembly)
Jason per our pm's why dont you also put the word out for a bad used 1 that motor failed on and not the gearing and swap parts...just a thought+

Gears | buy gears | spur gears

I can draw it up in Cad for you. Just need the specs.

Take care,

George

scatty, thanks for the heads up, but i think my module was done already. it says revision A on it. And yeah i know about that recall, but it always a good idea to keep it in mind, so thank you for that.

Brutal great idea, ill search around locally and see if i can find one. I dont know the price i got from nalley was pretty good i think. Helluva quick response from them. And the pricing was less than i thought it would be.
